LM is the only web framework with a built-in business model.

It offers a unique way of specifying and delivering web applications, the Jigsaw concept. This means LM applications not only have greatly reduced latency (especially over mobile), the way they are specified and delivered creates a whole host of opportunities for developers and content owners to easily share their work in a highly-intuitive UI environment, and, of course, within a completely open and fair monetization system

LM operates at a higher level of abstraction compared to other frameworks. LM applications are specified graphically, in terms of nested component blocks. Component blocks can be very varied, ranging from simple CSS and JS files to complex data definitions.

LM is powerful. Developers need write hardly any site-specific code, since so much high-level functionality is already provided by the LM library. LM is particularly useful for situations where data structures need be shared and manipulated by multiple users each with their own permission levels, for example social networks or business applications. LM handles the delivery, manipulation and storage of data structures in a completely general-purpose manner, which significantly reduces the developer's workload.

LM is extraordinarily customizable. The Jigsaw concept extends to every aspect of the system, including interface components. The entire look, feel and behaviour of a web application can be changed by simply replacing one or two template files.

Fundamentally, LM is a user focused framework. It exists to give users a better experience when they use web applications. There is no fundamental reason why web apps should provide less functionality and flexibility than their desktop cousins. In fact, there are lots of reasons why web apps should be better.
