Founded five years ago, Veespo is an anglo-italian tech company with a highly innovative product that can be sold into multiple verticals, such as market research, live TV and sport. Over the last five years Veespo has closed deals in Italy with Procter and Gamble, Unicredit and Accenture, to name just a few. We’re looking for a special person who can take this Italian success and scale it globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulating a convincing and effective global sales and marketing strategy

  • Generating reliable sales targets for 3, 6 and 12 months

  • Leading and motivating the sales team so as to meet these targets in Italy, Europe and beyond

  • Aggressively developing new contacts (both decision makers and influencers)

  • Conducting appropriate product demonstrations and client presentations

  • Negotiation of commercially sound contracts for new customers

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with new customers through regular client meetings, responding to clients' requests and feedback in a timely manner

  • Acquire complete knowledge of the features and advantages of the Veespo platform, and be able to communicate them effectively

  • Attending conferences or other relevant events as required

Specialist Knowledge / Skills Required

  • Proven track record of working successfully in a business development/enterprise sales role in a challenging and commercially driven B2B sales environment

  • Experience in selling into large corporations

  • Strong and proven negotiation skills

  • Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships

  • At the very least, a general understanding of how the internet works

  • Sales experience in the tech sector is not mandatory, but would constitute a strong advantage

The company’s infrastructure spans multiple datacenters, has a two year trailing uptime of 100%, and best-of-class response times, even under heavy load.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installing and managing physical servers and communication hardware across multiple datacenters

  • Installing and managing multiple remote virtual machines (vmware)

  • Installing and maintaining multiple DSE (Cassandra) multi node installations

  • Installing and maintaining multiple Apache Spark multi node installations

  • Installing and managing security and authentications systems (AD / Kerberos)

  • Managing, maintaining and extending Veespo’s communications network (VPN)

  • Regular remote deployment of application software updates (using Veespo’s proprietary tools)

  • Managing Veespo’s CDN (third party)

  • Managing Veespo’s internal office network and equipment

  • Assisting the core development team to execute efficiently

Specialist Knowledge / Skills (Required)

  • At least 2 years sys admin experience with vmware products (vSphere, Esxi, etc)

  • At least 2 years sys admin experience with network products (VLAN, VPN, SSH, etc)

  • At least 2 years sys admin experience with linux installations

  • Good working knowledge of Active Directory

  • Good working knowledge of database administration (general concepts)

Specialist Knowledge / Skills (Nice to have)

  • Knowledge of linux kerberos/winbind integration with AD

  • Proficiency in shell scripting (bash)

  • Proficiency in Java, Ruby or Scala

  • Experience with the Apache Cassandra project

  • Experience with the Apache Spark project

  • Knowledge of advanced routing concepts (eg full mesh VPN)

  • Knowledge of advanced DNS concepts (eg GeoDNS)

  • General interest in machine learning and big data software and techniques
